CEB Staff Newsletter #31 - 9 Sep 2021
COVID Update for CEB Staff
Working On-Site
Following Premier Daniel Andrews’ announcement yesterday, whilst lockdown restrictions will ease in regional Victoria from this evening, Thursday 9 September, if you can work from home, you must continue work from home.
As of 11.59pm this evening, only 25% of employees, or up to 10 people if the total workplace is 40 or less, can return to working on-site in the office, with a density quotient of 1 person per 4 sqm.
Therefore, if there is an essential reason to visit the office, please discuss this with your Team Leader before attending.
Working in Schools
Whilst schools are returning to on-site learning tomorrow for Foundation - Year 2 students and students studying VCE Units 3 and 4 subjects, we request that staff minimise school contact for the remainder of the term, supporting schools remotely where needed.
If there is an essential reason to visit a school, please discuss this with your Team Leader.
Authorised Worker Permits
Authorised Worker Permits are no longer required in regional Victoria as of 11.59pm tonight, Thursday 9 September.
School COVID Updates
Please continue to refer to our Executive Director’s COVID Updates for updates pertaining to schools.
Table of Restrictions
The updated Table of Restrictions is available to download, and is applicable as of 11.59pm tonight, Thursday 9 September.

Today is R U OK? Day

In response to living through a pandemic and its social and relational impact, the theme for 2021 is “Staying Connected”. To feel connected through relationships with our colleagues and the support experienced is powerful. Meaningful connection with our workmates and feeling supported by them is invaluable.

Sister Anne McMillan
Sr Anne McMillan died peacefully at St John of God Hospital yesterday morning, Wednesday 8 September. Anne has been unwell for several months.
In her early ministry she taught in Parish Schools in Ballarat and Robinvale. Her most significant contribution in the Ballarat Diocese was introducing the RCIA program. She was also involved in pastoral planning, liturgy and adult education. Sr Anne was also very talented and well known for her art and design capabilities. There are many throughout the Diocese who will be saddened by her death. May this great woman of Mercy rest in peace.
Sr Anne’s funeral is on Wednesday 15 September at 10.30am at St Patrick’s Cathedral and will of course be livestreamed due to COVID and restricted numbers permitted to attend.

October CEB Staff Meeting
We advise that due to the current COVID restrictions, especially around the density numbers in the workplace, the October CEB staff Meeting will be held online.
There will be two sessions held each morning (Tuesday 5 October and Wednesday 6 October) with a break in between each session. A detailed agenda will be issued in due course.

Secondment Opportunity
Applications are currently open for the CEB Manager: Safeguarding and Standards vacancy. This opportunity is open to the public but is also a 12-month secondment opportunity for DOBCEL employees. See further details here.

Payroll Update
ELMO Update
We are very excited to announce that we have launched the Payroll function of ELMO.
You will notice that your pay slip looks different this fortnight as it is generated from ELMO, rather than our old software.
Coming Soon
We will soon begin rolling out the other functionalities of ELMO, including leave management.
In the coming weeks, you will receive information and training on how to log in to ELMO, how to self-manage your personal details, and how to apply for and approve leave.
Importantly, for now, no action is required.
If you have any queries regarding your pay slip (which is emailed to you on Wednesdays), please contact payroll@dobcel.catholic.edu.au

CEB Staff Retreat RSVP Reminder
A reminder that RSVPs for the CEB Staff Retreat in Mount Macedon are due by COB tomorrow, Friday 10 September. Even if you are not attending, please submit the Google RSVP form so we have a clear idea of attendance numbers when planning activities.
If we have not heard from you by this date, we cannot guarantee you will have accommodation. Also, given the responses received so far, we may not have enough people to justify hiring a bus so unless numbers increase, this may no longer be an option.
Thank you to those who have already submitted their RSVP.

Updated Directory and Organisational Chart
New versions of the DOBCEL Directory, Organisational Chart and Organisational Structure Chart are now available in Knowledge Bank > 9. CEB Staff > 4. General Information.

VIT Registrations
Staff are requested to forward a copy of their updated VIT registration to Debbie Stabek when it arrives during September. We acknowledge postal delays, so would appreciate it if this can be forwarded when it is received.

Staff Prayer
Staff Prayer will take place remotely on the morning of Monday 13 September at 8.30am. The google meet link and the prayer for the session will be on our SIMON homepage on Monday.

SIMON/Intranet Tips
As detailed in CEB Staff Newsletter #30 (Friday 3 September), the old CEB intranet will be decommissioned in the near future.
Advice on how to access functionality using alternative platforms, such as the DOBCEL and CEB SIMON websites, will be circulated periodically.
If staff are currently accessing the intranet for functionality and resources that are not in the alternative locations, please contact Kevin Brodie or Emma Newman to discuss.
