CEB Staff Newsletter #39 - 12 Nov 2021
Staff announcements
Kate Lawry
I am delighted to announce that Kate Lawry has accepted the position on Leader: Catholic Identity & Mission for 2022 after an Expression of Interest process. As you are all aware Kate has acted in this capacity in the second half of this year and has performed very well in this role. I have great confidence in Kate’s ability to lead your team and to ensure your work is more holistically linked and permeates throughout CEB and in particular the Learning & Teaching, Wellbeing and Education Consultants teams. Congratulations Kate.
Janine Hillman
Janine Hillman, who has worked with CEB as Executive Assistant and DOBCEL Project Officer since August 2018, has tendered her resignation, effective at the end of 2021. The position was initially a short term 6 month contract, it soon became apparent that there was considerably more work involved. I am very grateful, as is the DOBCEL Board, that Janine agreed to stay on until the end of this year. Janine has worked relentlessly in the background on the documentation and formalities required for DOBCEL and was instrumental in its formation. She has supported myself and the DOBCEL Board effectively and efficiently to attend to the rigours and complexities attached to company business, including the transfer of 58 schools across to the new governance model. I would like to acknowledge the enormous workload that Janine shouldered when we were preparing and submitting all of the documentation required for the change in governance. Janine has navigated all tasks expected of her competently, with attention to detail, and in a timely manner. Colleagues have enjoyed Janine’s friendly presence, generosity of time and assistance, not to forget her delightful sense of humour. We wish her every blessing as she enjoys retirement with her husband Roger and embarks on other interesting outlets in the future.

COVID reminders for CEB staff
Please refer to CEB Staff Newsletter #38 (5 Nov 2021) for the current COVID settings for CEB staff.
All CEB staff are required to record their vaccination status on the Personal Record System (PRS)
As you are aware, the Chief Health Officer’s Directions require a school employer to collect, record and hold vaccination information about all ‘education workers’ who are, or may be, scheduled to attend a school on or after 18 October 2021.
While you have already provided your vaccination status to CEB, it must also be recorded on the CECV PRS by the individual staff member, as outlined in this memo. Please refer to the CECV collection notice regarding the collection of your vaccination status, as required by the Directions.
The below video provides instructions for adding your certificate to the PRS.

Lyons Street office clean up
Now that we are only five weeks away from the Christmas break, Lyons Street staff are requested to prioritise cleaning up their workspace over the next three weeks in preparation for the move to the new office.
Archive boxes will be made available for any resources/belongings you would like relocated to the new building, but we also ask that you make the most of the recycling bins and skip bin available at Lyons Street. Please take into consideration the fact that we have all been working from home for most of the past 18 months so if you haven’t needed something during this time... does it really need to move with you?
Please attempt to have the following completed by Friday 3 December:
- Clean your workspace
- Ensure all of your boxes to be taken to Gillies Street are clearly labelled
- Label your chair to ensure the right one is waiting for you at Gillies Street – stickers are available from reception
This will enable, where possible, for some items to begin being moved to the new location using professional removalists.
Whilst we are mindful many of you are still visiting schools, it is imperative to adhere to these timelines to ensure a smooth moving process.
Please ensure that you consider the safety of yourself and others as you undertake this task and seek further assistance from your Team Leader if required.

Gillies Street office update
Internally the Gillies Street office building is beginning to look less like a construction site and more like an office again with internal walls plastered, painting almost complete, most of the joinery installed and about 90% of the carpet tiles laid. Workstation pods are currently being relocated back into position.
Some external painting works have commenced, and structural elements to the new main entrance and the car park improvement works will commence in the coming weeks as the required planning and building permits have been received.
There are still some material supply issues affecting elements of the build including the feature timber work, and works to the Fire services are still with the authorities awaiting formal approval.
So while an exact date cannot yet be confirmed, a strategy is being discussed to hopefully see us being able to take full possession and occupy the internal areas of the building from Jan 2022 with the main entry structure to still be completed within an agreed timeframe.
A floor plan is available to view, along with the photos below (click to enlarge). The seating location of service areas will be decided by Leadership and announced in due course.
Further details regarding the logistics of moving will also be circulated in due course.
