CEB Staff Newsletter #4 - 26 Feb 2021
Return to ‘COVIDSafe Summer Settings’ from 11.59pm Tonight
Premier Daniel Andrews announced the easing of restrictions in a press conference this morning with a return to ‘COVIDSafe Summer Settings’ from 11.59pm tonight (Friday 26 February, 2021).
Key changes include:
- Face Masks will only be required in high-risk settings, including public transport, taxis and ride-share vehicles, and in large retail like supermarkets, shopping centres, department stores and indoor markets. There is no requirement to wear a face mask in the office.
- Up to 75 per cent of public and private sector workers will be allowed back in the office. Therefore, from Monday 1 March, CEB can increase our on-site working capacity to 75% of staff in each workplace location (up from 50%). Please talk to your Team Leader about this. To support a safe return to the workplace and to manage capacity in the Ballarat office, staff must register via the shared roster. To register to work from the Warrnambool office, please speak to Lee Schlooz, and for Horsham or Mildura speak with Chris Robarts.
- Up to 30 people can attend a home per day for private gatherings, up from five, and up to 100 people can attend outdoor gatherings.
All employees must adhere to strict requirements for non-attendance at the workplace if they have cold or flu-like symptoms. It is also a directive from the Chief Health Officer to present for COVID testing when cold or flu-like symptoms exist.
All employees are reminded of their obligation to take reasonable care of their own health and safety. For more information see the CEB Q&A for a safe return to the workplace published on Knowledge Banks.
2021 Influenza Vaccinations
Preparations for this year’s Flu vaccinations have commenced and at this stage CEB has been allocated a tentative immunisation clinic date, during the Term 1 holidays. The location of the clinic will be Catholic Education Ballarat, using the same methodology as last year.
As demand for this year’s vaccinations is unprecedented and the supply is limited, CEB will need to commit to the first available date offered, to ensure that we can receive the vaccinations in a timely manner. Given the impact of COVID-19 and the planning for the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, the Department of Health is not able to confirm exact details of when influenza vaccinations will be made available. Therefore an exact date for the CEB immunisation clinic won’t be confirmed until closer to time.
For those employees who are wondering, it is not compulsory that employees receive an Influenza vaccination, it is a complimentary offering to all CEB employees as part of our wellbeing program. For those employees who are unable to attend the CEB immunisation clinic, they are still able to receive the vaccination from their local GP or pharmacy (subject to availability) and have the cost of the vaccination reimbursed.
Also it is not anticipated that the COVID-19 vaccination will be available to employees at the time of the Influenza vaccination clinic, so if and when an opportunity to receive this vaccination via an immunisation clinic becomes a possibility, we will advise of the relevant details.
