CEB Staff Newsletter #23 - 8 July 2022

From the Executive Director

Thank you to everyone who came together this week for our CEB Staff Meeting, and to the presenters of the sessions also, whose content invited us to engage in enriching discussions with each other throughout the days at the fantastic Damascus Event Centre. Thank you also to Kerrie Zamitt and the Administration Team for organising the venue, catering and Tuesday night’s dinner.
 
I look forward to each of us continuing our partnerships with schools into the new Term, in addition to an exciting series of Principal announcements from across the Diocese set for next week.

Planned Landscaping Works in 200 Gillies Street Carpark

This coming Wednesday 13^th, Thursday 14^th and Friday 15^th July, landscaping works are scheduled to be carried out in the Gillies Street carpark. These works may also continue over the weekend if required.

It is requested that all staff please use available on-street parking on these days to ensure clear access for these works to occur.

Please note that access to pool cars parked in the carpark will still be available over these days, but please take care when taking and returning vehicles.

Planned possible electricity outage at 200 Gillies St

Our CEB ICT Team are undertaking some upgrades that require an electricity outage at 200 Gillies Street between 10:00am and 4:00pm on Saturday 9th July.

Given this is a Saturday the impact should be minimal, but it is requested that ALL staff be off site during these hours. 

We also note that the following ICT services etc. may also be disrupted:  

• Onsite: Access to internet, SIMON, Sharepoint, Desktop phones, payroll and finance systems, shared file server (z drive), printers. 
• Remote offices: SIMON, Sharepoint, Desktop phones. 
• External access to onsite services: SIMON, Sharepoint.
• Phone system will be offline but all calls will by default route to our backup mobile number.

Staff News

We welcome:

Jordan Smith

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jordan to the position of Financial Accountant at CEB. Jordan will be based in the Ballarat Office and commences 25 July. Jordan comes to us from Ballarat Grammar where he has been Acting Finance Manager and Accountant. Prior to this, Jordan was an Auditor with Countpro Audit (formerly PPT Audit).

We farewell:

David Bourke

David has resigned his position as Manager: Office and School IT, effective 31 July. David commenced with CEB back in June 2006 and has been a great resource for schools and valued member of the ICT team during this period. David leaves us to join PETstock and goes with our thanks and very best wishes for this new opportunity.

Jeanette Goon

Jeanette has resigned her position as Payroll Officer to take up the role of Remunerations and Benefits Manager with the City of Ballarat. Jeanette joined CEB in June 2020 and has been instrumental in payroll’s move to ELMO over the past 12 months. We wish her well in her new role and are really appreciative of her contribution to the Finance Team.
