CEB Blended Work Policy and Procedures
Following the April CEB meeting last week, the following documents are now available on Knowledge Banks under 7. Policies and Procedures > 2. CEOB:
- CEB Blended Work Policy
- CEB Blended Work Procedure
- CEB Blended Work Agreement (note that this now includes a Workstation Setup Guide)
Employees who would like to make an application for a blended work arrangement should read the policy and procedure before completing a Blended Work Agreement document and arrange a discussion with their Team Leader.
Completed applications should be provided to Team Leaders by Friday 30 April with a view to being considered by the CEB Stewardship Group on 3 May.
For any questions, please contact Michael Trainor, Human Resources Manager on 03 5337 7109.
Flu Vaccinations
On 14 April, CEB hosted the annual influenza vaccination clinic as part of the employee wellbeing program. This year we provided vaccinations to over 30 or approximately 1/3 of the total CEB employees.
Employees who were unable to attend the clinic in Ballarat can still benefit from the CEB wellbeing program, by obtaining a influenza vaccination from their local GP or Pharmacy and seeking reimbursement.
For anyone seeking reimbursement, it is requested that a CEB expense claim form, and a copy of the receipt is forwarded to mtrainor@ceob.edu.au.
CEB will be able to reimburse the cost of the vaccination only.
If you have any questions please contact Michael Trainor, Human Resources Manager on 03 5337 7109.
Caring for your Health, and Others, with the Cooler Months Ahead

Cooler weather means more time indoors with others. Coming together safely with family, friends, and colleagues requires us to be pragmatic in taking care of our health.
As flu and COVID vaccinations become available we should take the advice of our health practitioners regarding individual circumstances.
Hand hygiene is a simple and very effective precautionary measure over cold and flu season. Hand sanitiser is available on entry to all CEB office locations (and schools). Bathrooms will continue to have adequate soap and paper towels for handwashing.
To support workplace safety COVIDSafe actions continue including physical distancing and increased cleaning of ‘high touch’ surfaces in each office.
The Chief Health Officer’s directive to present for COVID testing when cold or flu-like symptoms exist remains in place. We all have a mutual obligation to protect the health and safety of others.
This advice includes, if you have cold or flu-like symptoms, do not attend the workplace (schools or offices). If an employee feels well enough to continue to work, the option would be to work remotely until symptom free or based on the advice of your medical practitioner. Employees are encouraged to take personal (sick) leave where time is needed to rest and recover.
Thank you for continuing to contribute to a safe and healthy workplace.
Respectful Relationships
Please see the attached information on Respectful Relationships Education in the Diocese of Ballarat, as highlighted in this week’s Weekly Newsletter.
Updated Policies
The following updated policies are available in Knowledge Banks > 7. Policies and Procedures.
The DOBCEL Employee Grievance Policy and Procedures and DOBCEL Prevention of Bullying, Harassment and Discrimiation Policy and Procedures were launched in this week’s Weekly Newsletter on 21 April. These policies and procedures apply to all DOBCEL staff in schools and CEB office locations.
In addition to the provisions made available through the DOBCEL Sponsorship: Higher Education Studies in RE, Theology, Catholic Educational Leadership Policy a new policy has been developed for CEB staff.
The CEB Higher Education Study Support Policy and Procedures, replaces the BDSAC Staff Study Policy for Catholic Education Officer Ballarat. The intent and policy offering is largely the same, however we have sought to provide clarity on how and when to apply. CEB employees can apply on an annual basis for financial support towards higher education and study leave for approved courses of study by the end of August each year using the CEB Higher Education Support Application appended to the procedure and in Knowledge Banks > 8. Forms.
Refreshed DOBCEL and CEB Logos
The DOBCEL logo and CEB logo have been updated and will be rolled out over the coming weeks and months. Watch this space for updates on new templates, style guide etc.

Updated CEB Organisational Chart
A new version of the CEB Organisational Chart is available on the Office Services and Staff page of our website and in Knowledge Banks under 9. CEB Staff > 4. General Information. An updated version of the Directory will be available in the next Weekly Newsletter.

WebCentral and Outlook

Just a reminder that it is essential for all staff to keep their Outlook calendar and WebCentral up to date with your movements. This serves as a log of your activity as a part of CEB’s duty of care to staff and should there ever be a need for contact tracing. Note, by updating your Outlook Calendar, Webcentral is automatically updated.
