Solemnity of the Sacred Heart

Next Friday, 16th June, is The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. How Catholic Christians understand this important event is:

“The Feast of the Sacred Heart is an invitation to ask ourselves, “How did Jesus love?” and “Whom did Jesus love?” The answers to those two questions are: abundantly, totally and completely; and everyone, especially those who were poor or marginalised. But there are other questions that the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart raises: “How do I love?” and “Whom do I love?” And the most important question of all, “How can I love like Jesus?” Maybe that’s a question we can ask ourselves tomorrow and always, as we encounter each person with the love of our own hearts, which seeks to love as Jesus’ Sacred Heart did.” ~ James Martin, SJ, AMERICA

The Catholic community has a tradition that tries to bring this concept alive. On The Feast of the Sacred Heart,  food and other items for people in need are collected and distributed, trying to reflect the love of Jesus, especially for the most vulnerable and marginalised.

At the moment The Vinnies Winter Appeal is taking place. You are invited to contribute to the Winter Appeal by donating non-perishable food to our collection tub in the staffroom in the Ballarat office - or you are most welcome to organise a collection at your local office. This tub will be in the Ballarat staffroom for the next two weeks. These items will then be delivered to The Saint Vincent De Paul Society for distribution to those in need.

Change in performance platform – Culture Amp

In 2022, the ELMO Performance Module was also introduced for the CEB Office Staff to capture goal-setting and record performance conversations and reflections as an online process.

Anecdotal feedback to date on the ELMO Performance Module platform has not been overwhelmingly positive. System functionality does not meet our organisational requirements, despite early representations by ELMO that it would.  As CEB continues to grow and our system needs mature, we can reasonably anticipate that system and user issues will continue. As a result of this feedback, we have made the decision to change platforms for our online performance and development planners. Please click here to understand more behind the reasons for this update, what it means for you and what to do if you need to complete your 6 month check-in now.
