2024 Meeting Calendar - draft

Please find attached the draft 2024 DOBCEL/CEB meeting calendar.

Due to the transition of the new CECV, we are still waiting on dates for statewide committee meetings which may require further adjustment to this calendar.

A final version will be released to CEB staff and Principals in December.

This calendar has also been shared with Principals today.

VIT Registration Renewal

All staff who are VIT registered are required to send through a scanned copy of their new registration as of 30 September each year.

Changes to Staff Expense Claim Reimbursement Procedures – NAB Flexipurchase

As of 1st September all staff expense claims will be processed through FlexiPurchase. All staff received an email 1st September to set up an account with FlexiPurchase to submit their claim. Claims are to be submitted on a monthly basis and will close for the previous month on the 10th of each month with payment processed by 14th of each month.

Team Leaders are encouraged to check that they have authorised all claims submitted by team members by 14th of each month for reimbursement to be processed.

While user guides are available, Michelle Leonard and Jordan Smith can also assist staff with navigating the FlexiPurchase platform and completing submissions of cash reimbursement claims, and for managers on reviewing submitted staff transactions for approval.

People & Development Update

2024 Blended Working Arrangement (BWA)

CEB staff are invited to apply for a new Blended Working Arrangement for 2024. Applications must be submitted to your Team Leader no later than 30 November 2023 for approval.  

BWA Operating procedure has been updated to reflect dates for the 2024 school year, updated contact details and to improve overall readability (no material changes have been made). 

Staff can access a copy of the updated Operating Procedure, Health and Safety Checklist and Application Form via Knowledge Banks. These resources will provide all the necessary information and guidelines for submitting the BWA application. 

Please note, approval of a BWA request is conditional on the home office endorsement by the OHS Coordinator, Leah Crough.  

If you have any questions about the Blended Work Agreement, please speak with your Team Leader in the first instance or contact the Human Resources Team.

Culture Amp Update

Coming soon - 12-month self-reflection/annual review process  

As the end of the year quickly approaches, it is time to start thinking about the 12-month self-reflection/annual review process for CEB staff. This important process allows us, and our team members to reflect on goals and accomplishments for 2023, and what we need to be successful in 2024. 

Culture Amp will be open to complete self-reflections from Monday 6 November. As part of the end-of-year process, you should also update the status of your goals, which you can do at any time during the year.  

Further information and instructions for completing the 12-month reflection will be shared over the coming weeks.

AFL Footy Tipping Competition – Results

Thanks to all who participated in the CEB Football Fanatics tipping competition for 2023. A bit of fun and healthy competition during the winter months to keep us entertained. 

A few bits and bobs: 

  • 22 staff members participated in the CEB Football Fanatics tipping competition for 2023. 
  • There were only 4 people who got a perfect score of 9 correct tips throughout the home and away season. 
  • There was only 1 person who got 1 correct tip throughout the home and away season. 
  • We had three ‘Joker’ rounds where our scores were doubled. 

Jacqui Righetti and Tania Lund wish to congratulate the following staff on winning the prizes for 2023: 

  • 1st prize – TERESA HADDEN (168) 
  • 2nd prize – JULIE COOPER (154) 
  • 3rd prize – JO MCKEE (153) 
  • Most Consistent – SAMANTHA MEERBACH (115)

Public Holidays – end of 2023

Melbourne Cup or Show Day 
Melbourne Cup Day (Tuesday 7 November) is a public holiday across all of Victoria unless an alternate local holiday has been nominated by a regional centre’s Local Government Authority (LGA). CEB staff can take Melbourne Cup Day as a public holiday, or the alternate day nominated by the LGA in their regional centre. 
A leave form is not required. However, you should inform your team leader of the public holiday day you intend to take. 

Christmas Day 
Monday 25 December is the public holiday for Christmas Day celebrated nationally. A leave form is not required, this is a statewide public holiday. 

Boxing Day 
Tuesday 26 December is the Boxing Day public holiday celebrated in most states. A leave form is not required, this is a statewide public holiday.
