CEB Strategic Directions Launch

Our Strategic Directions for 2020-24, Partnering: A Step Further, was officially launched yesterday at the Faith in the Future: Pastor and Principal Forum. The below video gives an overview of the Strategic Directions and its development, and the document can be downloaded from our website.

New Logos, Style Guide and Templates

As part of our transition to DOBCEL, the updated logo, a new template suite and a new Style Guide are now available in Knowledge Banks under 10. Logos, Templates and Style Guide.

Please note that Education Blue has been retired, and DOBCEL Purple is now used for both DOBCEL and CEB, with the logo as the point of difference. Logo usage is detailed in the new Style Guide.

For easy formatting, the new templates provide pre-set styles, and our colour palette has been added to the document theme. Further details on this are also in the Style Guide.

Staff are not expected to update documents etc. retrospectively, but the new logo, templates and Style Guide should be used going forward.

Recycling and Rubbish Bins Available for Clean-Up Prior to Gillies Street Move

An office move provides a great opportunity for a review of resources and a cleaning up or tidying of your work space.

A large rubbish bin has been made available to assist with this and is located within the car park, whilst 2 blue paper recycling bins have been provided in the foyer of 5 Lyons Street. Both recycling bins will be shredded but only one has been locked so please use this for any confidential documents. A key to the padlocks on bins is available from Reception.

We encourage all staff to make use of this opportunity to consider what can be scanned and kept as soft copy rather than paper hard copy as we move closer towards our office relocation.

To follow is a few simple tips to ensure your safety throughout this process:

  • Work with your colleagues and administration team whenever possible to manage any major tasks.
  • Plan the task; take five minutes to think about the best and safest way to do the job (e.g. organise assistance, get the right equipment, clear your path of travel).
  • Use the right equipment for the job; this equipment must be easily accessible and in good working order (e.g. use a small step ladder to reach items, not a chair or desk).
  • Ask for help; there is a big difference between what you can lift and what you can safely lift.
  • Spread physical tasks over a number of days and allow your body to ‘warm up’ in the morning before starting any heavy lifting tasks.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the job (e.g. bring spare ‘work’ clothes and suitable footwear for moving or ‘clean up’ days).
  • Don’t rush; spending time recovering from an injury will not be worth the five minutes you might save.

Mildura Service Centre

There has been an incident where the door of the Mildura Service Centre was left wide open with no one in attendance.

We offer a reminder to all staff who use this office to please ensure that the property is left secure when leaving the building.

CEB Staff Prayer

During Lent of this year, each Monday morning at 8.30am staff gathered for quiet reflection and prayer. Through various conversations and feedback it has been decided to continue coming together for prayer and offering a gentle reflective way to begin each week. Therefore, prayer will continue to take place weekly either by joining in person in the Diocesan Meeting Room in the Ballarat office or via this Webex link.

Here is the program we will be using.

New CEB Organisational Chart and DOBCEL Directory

New versions of the CEB Organisational Chart (updated 28 April) and the DOBCEL Directory (updated 12 May) are available on our website and in Knowledge Banks under 9. CEB Staff > 4. General Information.

WebCentral and Outlook

Just a reminder that it is essential for all staff to keep their Outlook calendar and WebCentral up to date with your movements. This serves as a log of your activity as a part of CEB’s duty of care to staff and should there ever be a need for contact tracing.  Note, by updating your Outlook Calendar, Webcentral is automatically updated.
