CEB Staff Newsletter #13 - 3 Jun 2021
COVID Update
Following Acting Premier James Merlino’s announcements, Greater Melbourne’s COVID lockdown will be extended for another seven days, however restrictions will be easing in regional Victoria from 11:59pm this evening.
Therefore schools in regional Victoria return to normal tomorrow, Friday 4 June. An updated Table of Restrictions is now available.
Impact on CEB Staff
Working Onsite
If you can work from home, you should continue to work from home. This is the preferred mode at this time.
Capacity limits in workplaces such as offices is capped at 50% or 20 people, whichever is greater. Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies in this situation. Therefore if staff wish to attend the office please contact your Team Leader, until further notice.
Working in Schools
Non-essential onsite meetings or school visits should be deferred or held remotely until further notice. Where a school visit is considered essential, please discuss this with your Team Leader first.
Staff COVID Vaccinations
DOBCEL strongly encourages all eligible staff to receive their COVID vaccinations as soon as practicable.
Operating hours have been extended for some vaccination centres to better meet demand and access. (We are also hoping that by the time of the school holiday break there will be more vaccination hubs across Western Victoria and better access in general.) We want to ensure that staff have the opportunity to receive a COVID vaccination and we recognise that some staff may have difficulty booking a vaccination appointment outside of work hours. Where this is the case, staff are welcome to make bookings during work times, as long as it does not impact on work commitments.
Any leave required subsequent to a vaccination for an adverse reaction is to be taken as paid personal leave.
Staff Influenza Vaccinations
Due to low demand for a second influenza vaccination clinic, CEB employees who were unable to attend the clinic in Ballarat in April can still benefit from this CEB wellbeing initiative by obtaining a influenza vaccination from their local GP or Pharmacy and seeking reimbursement.
To receive a reimbursement, please complete a CEB expense claim form, and forward it and a copy of the vaccination receipt to mtrainor@dobcel.catholic.edu.au. CEB will reimburse the cost of the vaccination only.
If you have any questions please contact Michael Trainor, Human Resources Manager on 03 5337 7109.
Gillies Street Office Update
We are pleased to update that after a period of design development and documentation in association with Morton Dunn Architects and a number of specialised consultants, the Gillies Street Refurbishment Project is now out to tender to a shortlist of builders.
As we progress to the next phase of this project there are still items that require some further thought and one of these such items is what or how do we name or refer to our various gathering spaces to include approximately 15 meeting and conversation rooms etc.
So, we are seeking the input of you all to assist us by providing some suggestions. These spaces should be named with consideration to our vision, purpose and story; honouring our faith tradition and identity.
There are many options so please let us know your thoughts by emailing Ash Wiseman with your suggestions by Friday 18 June.
Staff Prayer
Staff Prayer will be taking place next Monday 7 June at 8.30am. Here is the prayer we will be using.
All are most welcome to attend using this Zoom link.
