Thoughts and prayers with the Page family
The CEB Team was well represented at the funeral of Robert Page at St Peter and St Paul’s in Buninyong this morning. Our thoughts and prayers remain with our colleague Sarah and the Page family at this time. Thanks to Kate Lawry for the reflection opportunity in the Ballarat office staffroom.

Happy Last Day Allan!
The Wellbeing team did an outstanding job decorating Allan Hutchison's desk for his last day after 23 years service. It goes without saying Allan's professionalism, integrity and presence - not to mention his sense of humor - will be greatly missed. We wish Allan all the best in the next chapter of his life.

Emergency Management - The lockdown drill took place on Tuesday
Thank you to everyone who participated in our lockdown drill on Tuesday. This was our first time conducting this type of drill, and we appreciate your patience.

If you need assistance, this information is available on our OHS noticeboard.

DOBCEL Compliance Training for 2024
All DOBCEL staff are reminded they are required to complete the compulsory online compliance training modules designated for 2024 via the SALT compliance platform by the end of December 2024.
In 2024 there are two modules for all staff to complete estimated to take approximately 4.5 hours. Leadership staff are required to undertake an additional module for a further 2.5 hours.

The system wide delivery of compliance training is most efficiently delivered online. The training serves two purposes:
- as a way ensure that DOBCEL can demonstrate it is meeting regulatory obligations, particularly in relation to OHS, and
- to foster safe, respectful and harmonious places of work.
It demonstrates DOBCEL and school commitment to this type of workplace, and we ask all staff to complete the training modules to ensure that they are aware of this commitment, including their rights and responsibilities.
If you require any further information or assistance with accessing or the use of the SALT training platform, please contact your school SALT administrator, Compliance and Risk Support Officer or Andrea Warr on email awarr@dobcel.catholic.edu.au or 0498 490 749.
It’s beginning to look a lot like...Christmas!

We are delighted to announce the inaugural DOBCEL Decorating Competition. To share some spirit and sparkle from the Murray to the sea all offices are invited to participate, with judging to occur on Thursday 19 December at 5:00pm. There are four categories:
- Best group (can be two, twenty...doesn’t have to be your work team)
- Best individual desk
- Best religious representation of Christmas
- Best use of recycled materials (supporting our Sustainability pillar)
Staff based in Horsham, Mildura, Swan Hill and Warrnambool are encouraged to participate by sending in photos or videos of your space/s to execassistant@dobcel.catholic.edu.au by midday 19 December.
Some parameters:
- Be respectful of other people’s workspaces, do not spread beyond your work zone without your colleagues’ permission
- Decorations are not to interrupt people’s work capacity or comfort i.e. no flashing lights, no noisy accessories
- All decorations are to adhere to OHS regulations e.g. no trip hazards
- All decorations are at staff members’ expense
- Do not decorate meeting rooms
If you love a bit of Christmas cheer but are not necessarily into decorating your workspace, we invite you to nominate yourself as a judge! We are looking for three-five judges across different teams who are willing to walk the aisles of the Ballarat office and scroll their screens for electronic submissions. There will be perks!
