Updated School Operations Guide

The Term 3 School Operations Guide has been updated as of 6pm last night, and is available to download from CEVN. A summary of pertinent changes is below.

Interschool sport

Indoor and outdoor interschool sport are now permitted, but are limited to the minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity. They are also subject to venue capacity limits, including a density limit of one person per four square metres applying to any spaces being used. Record keeping obligations must be adhered to by staff and students visiting from other schools.

Interschool sport held off school sites (e.g. at a physical recreation facility) must be conducted in line with any specific indoor and outdoor capacity limits (100 people per indoor space and 300 per discrete outdoor space), in addition to the density quotient of one person per four square metres and any other obligations on venues including use of Service Victoria QR codes.

Spectators are not allowed (excluding people necessary for events such as teachers and supervising staff).

Schools should also put in place health and safety controls in line with the School Sport Victoria COVID-19 Safe Plan.

Other interschool activities

Interschool activities are also now permitted, with the density limit of one person per four square metres applied to any spaces being used. Record keeping obligations must be adhered to by staff and students visiting from other schools.

Interschool activities held off school sites (e.g. at entertainment venues or community facilities) must be conducted in line with any specific indoor and outdoor capacity limits (100 people per indoor space and 300 per discrete outdoor space), density limits and any other obligations on venues including use of Service Victoria QR codes.

Support to implement health and safety guidance

All schools should use the updated COVIDSafe Plan and COVID-19 Safety Risk Review templates to review and support their own implementation of the health and safety guidance. Schools are encouraged to work through this checklist with their Health and Safety Representative and OHS Committee to support good COVIDSafe practices.

Additional support for schools is available through the COVIDSafe Assurance Program. Schools that would like expert support to implement the COVIDSafe measures can contact Michael Trainor.

Schools that are closed due to COVID-19 will be proactively contacted and offered support through the program.

Parental consent and excursion attendance for contact tracing forms

In yesterday’s School Operations Guide, links to the parental consent and excursion attendance for contact tracing forms were posted incorrectly.

This error has now been corrected and those forms are available on the CEVN website.
