Executive Director’s Update to Principals #18: COVID Update - 18 March 2022
God of honest emotions
God of cathartic tears,
it would be sadder if in these days we didn’t need a good cry,
a release from the body,
a moment to name how it feels.
We thank you that these tears are not tears of weakness
but of witness.
They speak to a God
who wept as we do, and showed human love is divine.
Amen.
Collection and recording vaccination information
The third dose deadline is 25 March 2022. All education workers must be fully vaccinated (boosted) by/before that date if eligible to be boosted unless otherwise excepted or exempted.
To ensure schools, and DOBCEL, meet our governance and regulatory obligations under the Pandemic Orders we are asking all DOBCEL schools to:
- By Monday 21 March – please provide an early indication of the likely number of staff who may not be compliant with the booster deadlines/mandate via Google Form published in COVID Update this Friday.
- By Monday 28 March – send a copy of your local vaccination register for all education workers in your school to covid@dobcel.catholic.edu.au (Preferably in Excel format).
Support in managing non-compliance with the vaccination mandate
In consultation with CECV we have created some templates to assist principals where a worker may not be compliant with the Order.
This matrix (please click here for link) outlines the various scenarios and the required high-level approach.
Principals should contact;
Maree Baker (HR Manager)
mbaker@dobcel.catholic.edu.au
Mobile: 0436 460 275
for support and to access the appropriate template letters and talking points.
Maree and the Education Consultants will assist principals to navigate the situation particular to the circumstances and ensure procedural fairness and consistency in approach.
Next COVID Update
We would like to acknowledge the outstanding effort you have made as leaders within your schools over the past four weeks to ensure that our schools have remained open for face-to-face learning and teaching. Many thanks for all you are doing to keep our schools safe.
We will continue to monitor the situation and advise principals of any updates. Please liaise with the COVID Support team (see left hand column) or your Education Consultant with any questions or concerns.
Stay safe and continue to look after each other…
Every blessing.
