Executive Director's Update to Principals #11: COVID Update - 12 Mar 2021
Lord Jesus Christ, light of this world, thank you for the hope you have given us.
Help us to give our worries to you and, above all, to trust in your unfailing love.
For you have promised us "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you."
Almighty God, our protector, let us trust in you to carry us through this time of uncertainty.
Jesus, hear our cries as we mourn those who've left us.
Whatever tomorrow may bring, we will praise your name.

COVID Assurance Program for Schools
Next week all Ballarat Diocesan Schools will receive (via email) an invitation to participate in the COVID Assurance Program for Schools.
This is a voluntary program where Principals can request the school receive a visit from the Department of Health (formally DHHS), specifically the Infection Prevention, Control Advice and Response Nursing Team (IPCAR), to provide some expert feedback on implementing COVID safety strategies in schools.
Importantly this is not a compliance audit, rather an opportunity to receive feedback on how effective the schools current strategies are achieving a COVID safe environment when measured against the new COVID Assurance Program Catholic Schools Checklist. All Principals would be aware of the DOBCEL COVIDSafe-Plan template which all Principals received during the second wave which detailed the strategies our Diocesan schools were using to manage COVID in the work/learning place.
The invitation will come with a link for accepting the invitation and once accepted, DHS will be in touch to arrange a suitable visit time during May this year.
All Schools are strongly encouraged to participate in the program as it has the potential to provide some real insight into how well COVID risks are being managed in the school.
