Executive Director’s Update to Principals #7 - 24 February 2023
SALT Compliance Training Schedule for 2023
At the end of January all DOBCEL staff received an email in relation to online compliance training via the SALT compliance platform. This email provided details of required training for 2023 for each staff member. This listing would vary from staff member to staff, depending on commencement date.
A staff member commencing in 2023 would be required to completed both year 1 and 2 training during 2023. Existing staff members would only be required to complete year 2 training.
Staff should be aware that in the initial setup of SALT training, different levels (general staff or leadership) have different content. For example, in the OHS training, leaders will have 6 modules to complete but general staff will only have 2 (workers obligations and working safely).
All listed courses have been deemed mandatory and all staff are required to complete these.
The allocation of the mandatory sessions across the Diocese would, according to estimated completion times, take a non-leadership staff member approximately 70 minutes to complete which could be spread over a 6 month period. This time could be reduced significantly if the staff member had an existing knowledge base on the subject and was able to complete the assessment without undertaking the training module.
If you require any further information or assistance with the use of the SALT training platform, please contact Simon O’Brien.
