Principal Appointment St Joseph’s Primary School, Warrnambool
I am pleased to advise that the recruitment process has been completed and the selection panel, including Fr. Paddy Mugavin has recommended Mr. Matthew O’Brien to be appointed as Principal. Bishop Paul and Tom Sexton have accepted the recommendation and endorsed the decision of the panel.
Matthew currently holds the position of Education Officer as part of the Southern Zone, Learning and Teaching team and has been employed with Catholic Education Ballarat since 2014. Prior to his current role, Matthew was Deputy Principal at St Pius X Parish School 2002-2013 and has held a number of leadership positions, including Interim Principal throughout his career. Matthew has completed a Masters of Educational leadership and has extensive experience in effectively leading educational change. As an experienced educational leader, Matthew has demonstrated a strong commitment to working alongside people and building quality relationships.
Matthew is looking forward to commencing as Principal on 24 May 2021 and being part of the St Joseph’s school community.
I invite you to join me in wishing Matthew well as he steps into this important leadership position for both the local Parish and DOBCEL School community.
