  • Announcement of Appointment- Siena Catholic Primary School, Lucas

Announcement of Appointment- Siena Catholic Primary School, Lucas

I write to inform you that Mrs Shelley Ryan has been appointed as Principal of Siena Catholic Primary School Lucas. Shelley will commence this new position at the beginning of Term 4, 2023.

Shelley has served the community of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Werribee as Foundation Principal since 2020. She is regarded as a professional and effective leader by her colleagues and a passionate and pastoral contributor to her education community.

Prior to her appointment to St Joseph’s, Shelley was acting Principal at St Mary’s Clarkes Hill and St Brendan’s Dunnstown. She has also held leadership and teaching positions at Emmaus Catholic Primary School Mt Clear, St Francis Xavier Primary School Ballarat East, St Augustine’s Primary School Maryborough and St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, Stawell.

Shelley is committed to her ongoing learning journey with further study successfully completed in the areas of Leadership and Wellbeing, Religious Education and Enhancing Catholic School Identity.

Shelley’s influence and leadership at St Joseph’s has centred around building a new school community from the foundations. She has focused strongly on building connections and learning environments that are positive, respectful and collaborative, reflecting her belief that relationships are the key to achieving great outcomes.

Shelley is also an active member of her parish community and her faith leadership is both evident and admirable.

As Executive Director of Catholic Education Ballarat, I offer my congratulations to Shelley on her appointment to Principal of Siena Catholic Primary School.

I also extend my appreciation to Chris Kavanagh for his generous and diligent leadership at Siena since 2020. Our diocesan education community will appropriately thank and farewell Chris later this year.

I ask you to join me in wishing Shelley all the best in her new role and welcoming her to the Siena school community.
