Executive Director’s Update to Principals #47 - 14 November 2024
Bereavement news
Dear Colleagues,
It is with enormous sadness that I advise you that our friend and Catholic Identity & Mission colleague Sarah Page’s husband Robert has passed away after a short illness.
I ask for your prayers for Sarah, Zeb, Isabella and her partner Campbell. Robert was only 46, as strong as an ox, and developed a condition that really ripped into him very dramatically. So, if members of the CI&M team are visiting you, please be aware of their sadness too.
Many of you have met Sarah (or will do next year) through her role of Ed Officer: Social Justice. Sarah commenced working with us in October 2023 and started with tackling the enormous task of assisting our schools and DOBCEL to be compliant with Modern Slavery Legislation. The enormity of the task has Sarah more often pinned to a computer until midyear.
Sarah is also preparing our schools and CEB Offices for the Laudato Si Action Plan and the registration that will be required for it. As our Bishops had requested, we had hoped to achieve this by 2024, but given the circumstances, this may be more realistic for many of our schools by Term 1 2025.
Sarah has presented the background to the Laudato Si Action Plan and outlined the process to some of our principal networks and more recently to the Primary REL Networks. Sarah has visited many of our schools and has been assisting them with sustainability practices. Her work is exceptional in this sphere.
Please keep Sarah and her family in your prayers.
