CEB Staff Newsletter #37 - 29 Oct 2021
COVID updates for CEB staff
From 6pm today, Friday 29 October, with the state at 80% fully vaccinated, regional Victoria and Melbourne come together under the same COVID rules.
Working on-site
While lockdown restrictions have eased, staff should continue to work from home if they can. The current roadmap requires:
- Staff working on-site to be vaccinated per the Directions
- Density quotient of 1 person per 4 sqm to be observed
- Face masks to be worn
- Maximum 25% of the workforce on-site, limited to 10 people if the total workforce is 40 or less
The roadmap at 90% fully vaccinated will see the end of gathering limits, and capacity and density limits will no longer apply. The government expect to reach the 90% mark by 24 November 2021, at which point, on-site work will return to normal, per the Directions.
Working in schools
Although schools have fully returned to on-site learning, we request that staff continue to minimise school contact, supporting schools remotely where needed.
As per page 7 of the School Operations Guide, from Monday 1 November:
Visitors to school grounds must comply with vaccination requirements, density limits, face mask requirements, QR code check-ins and practise respiratory etiquette and good hand hygiene.
The density limit of one person per four square metres should be applied to any spaces and activities being attended by parent/carers and other visitors. The density limit applies to all persons in the space, including students.
School COVID updates
Please continue to refer to our Executive Director’s COVID Updates for updates pertaining to schools.
Summary of key operational requirements
Below is a snapshot of the summary of key operational requirements from the School Operations Guide. These requirements will apply from Monday 1 November.

We farewell Micky Robarts and thank her for her eight years of service as an Administration Officer in the Horsham CEB service centre, working one day a week. Micky and Chris both finished with CEB last Friday, and are looking forward to the opportunity to spend more time with their grandchildren in their retirement. We wish them both every blessing for the future.

Staff retreat update
We are very excited to share today some important information regarding the Staff Retreat that is taking place on 15 and 16 December. This google doc provides a brief overview of each of the workshops and keynote.
Included in this document is also a draft working Agenda of the Retreat. Note that this is NOT finalised, however, by sharing this with you at this stage, it gives a good picture of the ‘bones’ of what the Retreat is shaping up to look like.
Please have a read and consider which workshops you may like to participate in. These workshops will be taking place concurrently. In the next week or so there will be a google form enabling you to make a preference for which workshops you would like to participate in.

End of year dinner reminder
As previously announced, an end of year staff dinner will be held on Friday 3 December, with partners invited. This will be an opportunity to come together to celebrate 2021 and to farewell colleagues who are moving on from CEB.
Please register your attendance and advise whether your partner will be attending, so we can ensure an appropriate space is booked. The venue will be announced once numbers are finalised.

Horsham meeting room bookings
To book the large or small meeting room at the Horsham CEB centre, please contact Susan Kern.

Updated Directory and Organisational Chart
An updated DOBCEL Directory and CEB Organisational Chart are now available.

Email signatures
Staff who have commenced with CEB over the last two years may or may not be aware that your Outlook email signature is auto generated after you send an email. This means that there is no need to manually add your signature at the bottom of your emails, as this will result in duplicate signatures.
To check that your signature isn’t doubling up, send yourself an email then check the copy you receive in your inbox. Note that when you send a new email your signature will not appear in the copy in your sent items.

Staff Prayer
Staff Prayer will not take place this Monday 1 November due to the Melbourne Cup Holiday on Tuesday, however there will be a prayer available on SIMON on Monday morning.

Staff birthdays
We hope these staff enjoy their special day in November…
