CEB Staff Announcements

Maree Baker

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Maree Baker as Manager: HR. Maree is currently Senior Manager People and Capability with Western Victoria Primary Health Network and has previously been General Manager Workforce Strategy and Services with the Department of Justice and Regulation.

Jacqui Righetti

It is with great pleasure that we announce Jacqui Righetti’s 12-month secondment to the role of Manager: Safeguarding and Standards for 2022. Jacqui will replace Tim O’Farrell who has accepted a secondment to the position of Education Consultant (Secondary) for the 2022 school year.  Jacqui’s passion for, and commitment to, the rights of every child will serve her well in this role, and her knowledge and expertise in the field of learning diversity will support further connection between the People and Development and Wellbeing Teams.

We will welcome both Jacqui and Maree into their new roles in December.

Executive Director, Catholic Education Ballarat

COVID updates for CEB staff

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced a greater easing of restrictions from 11.59pm Thursday 18 November. The media release and an infographic summary of the changes can be viewed on the Premier’s website.

Workplaces are open which means we can all safely commence a return to working onsite. This will also assist those in the Ballarat office, to commence the clean up and packing in readiness for a move to the new office space (CEB Staff Newsletter #39) early next year.

Please note:

  • QR check-ins remain, along with vaccination requirements.  Please ensure you check in with the QR code each time you attend a CEB office or school.
  • Masks are required indoors only in limited settings (retail, health and aged care, primary schools), however masks are recommended where you can’t reasonably physically distance.  We support the choice of all individuals who may prefer to continue to wear masks in other settings.
  • There are no limits on the number of people who can gather in a public place (or your home).
  • CEB offices will continue to be cleaned according to our COVIDSafe plan with particular attention to high touch surfaces and shared spaces.
  • Where visiting schools onsite, continue to hold in high regard the busyness of the final weeks of term and limit visits to those requested by the school.

Reminder: Lyons Street office clean up

A reminder that Lyons Street staff are requested to prioritise cleaning up their workspace over the next two weeks in preparation for the move to the new office.

Archive boxes are available for any resources/belongings you would like relocated to the new building, but we also ask that you make the most of the recycling bins and skip bin available at Lyons Street. Please take into consideration the fact that we have all been working from home for most of the past 18 months so if you haven’t needed something during this time... does it really need to move with you?

Please attempt to have the following completed by Friday 3 December:

  1. Clean your workspace
  2. Ensure all of your boxes to be taken to Gillies Street are clearly labelled
  3. Label your chair to ensure the right one is waiting for you at Gillies Street – stickers are available from reception

This will enable, where possible, for some items to begin being moved to the new location using professional removalists.

Whilst we are mindful many of you are still visiting schools, it is imperative to adhere to these timelines to ensure a smooth moving process.

Please ensure that you consider the safety of yourself and others as you undertake this task and seek further assistance from your Team Leader if required.

Reminder: Christmas/New Year CEB Finance Office closure

The CEB Finance Office will close from Friday 17 December 2021 and re-open on Monday 10 January 2022.

Any invoices, staff reimbursements and school payments that require payment prior to our closure must be received by close of business Monday 6 December. Please email all authorised invoices, reimbursements and school payments to accounts@dobcel.catholic.edu.au.

Any invoices, reimbursements and school payments received after this date will not be paid until the week of 24 January 2022.

Staff Prayer

Staff Prayer will take place remotely on the morning of Monday 22 November at 8.30am. The google meet link and the prayer for the session will be on our SIMON homepage on Monday.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Join ACRATH and the international community for 16 days of activism against gender-based violence

The United Nations 16 days of activism begins on 25 November – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ends of 10 December – Human Rights Day.

2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign. Human trafficking, a $150 billion global industry, is one of the greatest examples of violence against women and girls. As well, millions of women and girls are forced to marry or to work in terrible conditions for little pay and no chance of an education.

Pope Francis reminds us: “It is not possible to remain indifferent before the knowledge that human beings are bought and sold like goods!”

Visit the ACRATH 16 Days webpage for posters, stories, actions, prayers, resources and more information about this global campaign.
