Accommodation for CEB Christmas Mass and Dinner 1 December
As the Spilt Milk festival clashes with our Christmas Mass and dinner, unfortunately accommodation in Ballarat has been booked up. We have managed to secure 7 rooms, however, we anticipate being short approximately 17 rooms, working on last years’ numbers. This means that alternative accommodation arrangements are being looked into.
To that end, Ballarat based staff are asked to please consider hosting a colleague (and possibly their partner) for the evening of 1 December. If you would be willing to do this, please email Kerrie Zammit by 9am Wednesday 26 July.
For all other CEB staff that require accommodation for yourself (and your partner) please also email Kerrie by 9am Wednesday 26 July. If you would be willing to stay with a colleague that is based in Ballarat please note this in your email too.
Due to the unavailability of accommodation, it is very important for those CEB staff located outside of Ballarat to advise if they require accommodation by the above date to ensure that we can make arrangements for you.
I thank you for your consideration of this unusual request.

Executive Director Update
To ensure our Principals are not being inundated with emails, the ED Update will normally only be sent out once a week unless there is a time sensitive matter. Items for inclusion are to be emailed to Kerrie Zammit (through the relevant Leadership group member) for my approval.
The ED update is sent to Principals, the DOBCEL Board and the CEB Leadership group with members of the Leadership group to disseminate the information to their teams, where relevant.

Feedback from Staff Meeting Questions

Last week the responses to 'How does/should Artificial Intelligence play a role in our work?' from the July CEB staff meeting were shared.
This week we look at the feedback from staff regarding How can we deliver professional learning in the new EBA environment (30+8 hour week and TIL)?
Visitors to the Gillies St Office

A reminder that ALL visitors to the office, whether they be Principals, interviewees, contractors, etc are required to sign in at Reception where they will be issued with a visitor badge (sticker).

2024 Calendar

It is the aim of the organisation to have the 2024 calendar published in the first week of Term 4. To that end, staff are asked to submit dates for consideration for inclusion in the 2024 calendar by 9am Monday 21 August.
This will allow time to identify any clashes and negotiate with the relevant teams. Thank you for adhering to this timeline.

People and Development Update

Want to give feedback to help develop staff wellbeing at DOBCEL?
Staff Wellbeing Consultation Sessions -
As part of delivering the DOBCEL strategic priority to ‘develop and deliver a staff wellbeing plan, and a student/school community wellbeing plan including the roll-out of endorsed Student Wellbeing review recommendations’, we are holding two consultation sessions with CEB staff to gain invaluable feedback to assist in the development of a whole of staff wellbeing plan. Consultation sessions are also being held with staff in interested DOBCEL schools across all zones to ensure feedback is included from a wide range of roles and experiences.
The one-hour session will be conversational, aiming to gather opinions and experiences regarding staff wellbeing, such as:
- What does staff wellbeing mean to you?
- What are some of the challenges with staff wellbeing?
- What wellbeing initiatives have you seen or experienced that have worked well?
- And other wellbeing related conversations
The feedback gathered from the consultation sessions across the Diocese will help inform the contents of an all-staff wellbeing survey that will be released later this term. All the information gathered via consultation and the survey will directly feed into the development of a staff wellbeing framework, and the delivery of a staff wellbeing plan.
If you are unable to make one of the sessions but would love to chat about wellbeing, please feel free to reach out to Tania Lund directly - She would love to hear your thoughts!
Session options are below, please select one workshop only. The content of both workshops is the same.
