It is not compulsory pre-work but experience has told us that some people prefer to do some pre-thinking about “what are one or two conversations you need to have in order to resolve a situation or improve results?” The personal examples people bring with them, or think of on the day, will be used throughout the training as scenarios to individually work on.
The attached worksheet provides some thinking prompts for those who would like to come prepared with some interactions to apply the crucial conversations skills to.
Should you have any further queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kerrie Zammit.

Secondary Schools Only: Compliance with the minimum standard relating to the curriculum standard (languages)
As secondary principals would be aware, the VRQA recently advised CECV that schools offering languages as an elective across the Year 9/10 band were not compliant with VRQA minimum standards. This shift in interpretation by the VRQA has come as a surprise to the non-government and government education sectors. Discussions have been held with the VRQA and their position remains unchanged.
Following consideration of this matter by the CECV Review Body Committee, it was determined that CECV would request a bulk exemption for 2023 for schools which allow students to ‘opt out’ of languages across the Year 9/10 band. Further details are attached here.
