Executive Director's Update to Principals #28: COVID Update - 18 Jun 2021
Protect us, Lord, and be with us
especially those of us most vulnerable
during this coronavirus crisis.
Move us to reach out in love
to our neighbours near and far.
So that the humble may be exalted,
the hungry filled with good things.
Grant us the courage
not to rush back to our old ways,
but to rebuild our world together,
creating foundations of justice,
with equality and peace for all.
Amen.
COVID-19 vaccine for eligible school staff
Early childhood care and education (ECEC) or school employees who meet certain criteria are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a state vaccination centre under Phase 1B of the program.
In particular, any teaching and support employees in schools, directly working with students (within 1.5 metres of students for more than 15 minutes) living with a specified underlying medical condition or significant disability requiring frequent assistance with activities of daily living.
A significant disability in the context of vaccination of ‘carers’ in government schools would include, for example, school staff directly working with a student(s) receiving either National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD) supports.
The following COVID-19 information and templates for Phase 1B school and early childhood care and education employees is attached:
