Please see below information about a refund for schools in relation to contributions to this program.
Building Damage Notification Processes - UPDATE
With the introduction of a new Insurance provider, DOBCEL would like to clarify the notification process.
Schools should contact Property and Facility Advisor, Penelope Irish on Ph 0429 473 351 or pirish@dobcel.catholic.edu.au regarding any building-related damage which could compromise school operations and/or result in an insurance claim.
Penelope will provide details of any claim or potential claim to the DOBCEL Insurance Assessor, and where applicable, make arrangements with trades to ‘make safe’ all damage affected areas of the school.
If there is an immediate risk to safety or an active emergency, call triple 000 for emergency support ie: Fire, Floods or SES site attendance.
If you have any questions regarding these or other procedures regarding property related insurance claims, please contact Penelope on email pirish@dobcel.catholic.edu.au or Ph: 0429 743 351.
REMINDER - MANDATORY SURVEY (Working at Heights)
- Mandatory School Survey
Please see below link to a MANDATORY working at heights/fall prevention survey to be completed by all schools by 31/10/2024.
This survey is designed to ensure the appropriate management of working at heights tasks/fall prevention is undertaken and highlights some appropriate controls that can be taken; this will only take 5 minutes to complete: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GCVYJC3
- Working at height ticket reimbursement initiative
A working @ height ticket reimbursement offering is in place again for term 4 this year, this is targeted at schools who didn’t take up the 2023 offering OR were not included in the initial 2023 offering. An individual email will be sent to the principal of those schools, and we strongly encourage those to take up this initiative.
- Further information and resources
The department of education has great resources in this space and the new DOBCEL working at heights procedure will be similar to what is included here; if you would like to review documentation available in this space please see the below link: https://www2.education.vic.gov.au/pal/prevention-falls-when-working-heights/policy
